Why The Machines Are Winning

Winners and Losers

Who are the winners in our battle with new technology? Certainly not you and I. We bear the brunt of dealing with this new technology that dominates our lives.

Is it the makers of the technology? It would seem so, at least in the short run. But in the long run, it is the machines that are winning. If we keep conforming to their needs, if the makers keep convincing us we have no other choice, than this is the long run the machines need to achieve complete dominance.

Not, however, as many believe, through their superior intelligence. We are not being controlled by smart machines; rather we are adapting to stupid machines. And as long as they can succeed and remain stupid, where is the need to evolve more intelligence? I doubt T-Rex worried about his IQ.
